Alternative Technologies from Channel Islands:

Hydro Epic surfboards are made from an array of aerospace composite materials including but not limited to Kevlar by Dupont, Carbon fiber, carbon reinforced glass, pure carbon, UV inhibited Mil-spec epoxy resin, aluminum, aluminum honeycomb, aluminum coated fabric & air. These boards are hollow & provide a light & durable alternative to CI's traditional polyester construction.

Channel Islands offers a number of its high perfromance models in XTR technology. XTR is extruded polystyrene ( a closed cell styrofoam blank), this means it does not absorb water even if dinged. Glassed with epoxy resin, using a new patented technology which releases built up gas thus reducing delamination. Al has been testing his designs in this technology for 5 years & the result is an extremely high performance surfboard, providing a very lively feel & riding slightly more buoyant than a standard polyester surfboard.
